What is Suno Crop?

Suno Crop, model ID suno-ai/crop, trims a clip you already made with Suno. It works on the output of a previous Suno generation: pass that clip_id, set a range with start_s and end_s in seconds, and decide what happens to the range with remove. Left at false, the call keeps only that range, which is how you cut a full song down to a 30-second preview. Set to true, the call cuts the range out and joins the audio on either side, which is how you drop a verse or a long intro. No new music is generated, so there is no model version to pick. You can name the result with title. The task returns a new clip, and the original is never changed.

Key features of Suno Crop

Four features cover everything the crop call does.

Crop and remove in one endpoint

The remove flag switches modes. false keeps the range from start_s to end_s. true cuts that range out and joins what is left.

Second-level ranges

start_s and end_s are required and accept decimals, so you can cut on a beat rather than on the nearest whole second.

Non-destructive

Each crop returns a new clip with its own ID. The source clip stays available for other edits or a different cut.

No generation step

Crop does not take mv and does not create new audio. It is currently not billed; check the pricing page for the live status.

Best for

30-second previews

Keep the strongest 30 seconds of a song for a store listing, a social post, or an in-app preview.

Trimming long intros

Remove the first few seconds of silence or a slow build so the track starts where it should.

Dropping a section that did not work

Set remove to true to cut a weak bridge and join the parts around it.

Loops for samplers

Crop a short range to get a loop you can load into a sampler or a game engine.

Tighter outros

Keep the song up to the final chorus and drop a long tail.

Use cases

A music app can add a trim handle to every generated song and send the handle positions as start_s and end_s when the user saves. A social content pipeline can crop every new track to a short range for vertical video before posting. A game studio can cut looping sections out of longer Suno tracks for menus and level music. Hard cuts can end abruptly, so follow a crop with the Suno Fade API. If the section should be rewritten instead of removed, the Suno Replace Section API regenerates it with new lyrics.

API examples

Crop and the other Suno edits are documented together in the Suno edit docs.

curl -X POST https://api.unifically.com/v1/tasks \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
  -d '{
    "model": "suno-ai/crop",
    "input": {
      "clip_id": "1901ec96-72c6-4c26-8e56-91028ca6070d",
      "start_s": 0,
      "end_s": 30
    }
  }'

The response includes a task_id. Poll GET /v1/tasks/<task_id> for the cropped clip, or set a callback_url outside input to receive it as a webhook.

It edits the length of an existing Suno clip. With remove set to false (the default) it keeps only the range between start_s and end_s. With remove set to true it cuts that range out and joins the rest.

Both use the same endpoint and the same range. Crop keeps the range and drops everything else. Remove section drops the range and keeps everything else. The remove flag switches between them.

No. Every crop returns a new clip with its own ID, and the original stays as it was.

No. Crop does not generate audio, so it takes no mv field. It needs only clip_id, start_s, end_s, and optionally remove and title.

Crop and remove section are currently not billed. Check the pricing page for the live status.
