Qwen Image 2.0 API pricing: a flat rate per image, with the whole Qwen Image family rate card beside it
Qwen Image 2.0 API pricing: $0.0245 per image on UnificAlly, flat for generation and editing. 2.0 vs Pro, Max and Plus rates, cost at 1,000 images, code.
Qwen Image 2.0 is Alibaba's speed-and-cost variant of the Qwen Image 2 family, released December 2, 2025, and on UnificAlly it costs a flat $0.0245 per image. That one number covers text-to-image, editing and multi-image fusion with up to 10 references, at any of the five aspect ratios, with smart prompt rewriting on or off. This post is the Qwen Image pricing breakdown for developers: the 2.0 rate, what 100, 1,000 and 10,000 images cost a month, where 2.0 Pro's higher rate earns its keep, the rate card for the rest of the family (Qwen Image, Max, Plus and Z-Image Turbo), how the price lines up against the other image models on the platform, and the exact request the route accepts. Parameters and a playground are on the Qwen Image 2.0 API page.
TL;DR: Qwen Image 2.0 costs $0.0245 per image on UnificAlly, the same whether the call generates from a prompt or edits with ten references. Qwen Image 2.0 Pro costs $0.0525 per image for the same request shape at the top quality of the line. 1,000 images cost $24.50 on 2.0 and $52.50 on Pro. Our call: 2.0 is the default for every sweep, draft and catalogue pass, and Pro is a per-image upgrade you buy only for the hero render. On Arena's text-to-image board, Qwen-Image-2.0-Pro sits at #21 with a score of 1192 as of October 7, 2026; the non-Pro 2.0 route is not ranked separately, so treat Pro's rank as the family's ceiling, not 2.0's score.
How much does the Qwen Image 2.0 API cost?
Qwen Image 2.0 bills one flat rate per completed image. Unlike the resolution-tiered image models, there is no 1K, 2K or 4K ladder to price against: the model picks the pixel size from the aspect ratio, and references, negative prompts, prompt rewriting and the seed are all included. The rates below refresh from the live price list on every deploy.
| Model | Option | Our rate |
|---|---|---|
| Qwen Image 2.0 | Standard | $0.0245 |
| Qwen Image 2.0 Pro | Standard | $0.0525 |
The single line is the whole story for budgeting. A 2.0 request with no references and a 2.0 request fusing ten references cost the same, so the reference-locked workflows (character continuity, product swaps, seasonal background refreshes) carry no premium over plain generation. Failed tasks are not billed. The pricing page lists every image model side by side.
Qwen Image 2.0 cost per month at 100, 1,000 and 10,000 images
Because the rate is flat, monthly cost is count times rate with nothing to estimate. The table multiplies the live per-image rates by three common volumes.
| Images per month | Qwen Image 2.0 | Qwen Image 2.0 Pro |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | $2.45 | $5.25 |
| 1,000 | $24.50 | $52.50 |
| 10,000 | $245 | $525 |
The split that makes the budget work: sweep on 2.0, promote on Pro. A team that drafts 1,000 variants on 2.0 and re-renders the 50 keepers on Pro pays $24.50 plus $2.625, well under 1,000 images on Pro. Both routes take the same prompt, aspect_ratio, image_urls, negative_prompt, prompt_extend and seed, so the keeper's request is re-sent to the Pro model id unchanged. There is no subscription and the balance does not expire.
Qwen Image 2.0 vs 2.0 Pro pricing: what the higher rate buys
Pro and 2.0 are the same surface at different sampling budgets. Pro targets peak quality and text accuracy for hero stills; 2.0 trades some of that for faster, cheaper sampling. The practical difference shows in three places: small text inside dense layouts, fine texture on hero product renders, and large-format print, where Pro's extra accuracy is worth a few cents an image. For A/B drafts, internal review rounds, catalogue placeholders and anything a reviewer will look at for two seconds, 2.0 at $0.0245 is the better buy.

On quality, Arena's text-to-image board (October 7, 2026) is the neutral reference, and it ranks the family's Pro tiers rather than the speed tiers:
| Arena row | Rank | Score | Votes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Qwen-Image-3.0-Pro | #13 | 1255 | 11,440 |
| Qwen-Image-2.1 | #19 | 1223 | 11,441 |
| Qwen-Image-2.0-Pro | #21 | 1192 | 13,096 |
| Qwen-Image (2512) | #44 | 1125 | 98,288 |
Two honest reads. Qwen-Image-2.0-Pro sits in the middle of the board, behind GPT Image 2.5, Seedream 5.0 Pro and Nano Banana 2.1, and the non-Pro 2.0 route is not ranked at all, so its own quality is a step below the #21 row. Where the family wins is Chinese text rendering and the 10-reference cap at this price, which is why it keeps a place in catalogue and localisation pipelines that the higher-ranked models would make several times more expensive.
The rest of the Qwen Image family: rates per image
Qwen Image 2.0 is the cheapest of the five Qwen image routes on the platform only when you count references. The original Qwen Image API costs the same base rate as 2.0 and adds a surcharge once image_urls is set; Max and 2.0 Pro share the top rate; Plus is the stylistic draft model at the lowest Qwen rate.
| Model | Option | Our rate |
|---|---|---|
| Qwen Image | Standard | $0.0245 |
| image_urls.0: yes | $0.0315 | |
| Qwen Image Plus | Standard | $0.021 |
| Qwen Image Max | Standard | $0.0525 |
| Route | Per image | Pick it for |
|---|---|---|
| Qwen Image 2.0 | $0.0245 | Sweeps, drafts, 10-reference editing at a flat rate |
| Qwen Image 2.0 Pro | $0.0525 | Hero renders, text-heavy layouts |
| Qwen Image (original) | $0.0245 text-only, more with references | Pipelines already wired to the original route |
| Qwen Image Max | $0.0525 | Photoreal stills with the fewest artefacts |
| Qwen Image Plus | $0.021 | Stylised design exploration |
| Z-Image Turbo | $0.0105 without prompt rewriting | Alibaba's cheapest image route, no references |
If a job uses references, 2.0 is the cheapest Qwen route that includes them. If it does not, Z-Image Turbo with prompt rewriting off is the lowest Alibaba rate on the platform.
How Qwen Image 2.0 pricing compares with other image models
Per image at 1K (or the model's single tier) on UnificAlly today:
| Model | Per image | Reference images | Arena text-to-image rank (Oct 7, 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Qwen Image 2.0 | $0.0245 | 10 | not ranked (2.0 Pro: #21) |
| Nano Banana 2.1 (1K) | $0.02 | 10 | #6 |
| Nano Banana 2 Lite | $0.02 | 14 | #15 |
| Seedream 5.0 Lite | $0.028 | sequential sets | #40 |
| GPT Image 2.5 Flare (1K) | $0.03 | 16, surcharge each | #2 |
| Flux.2 Klein 9B (1 MP) | $0.0105/megapixel | yes | #62 |
The comparison is not kind to Qwen Image 2.0 on rank: Nano Banana 2.1 costs less per image at 1K and ranks far higher, and Seedream 5.0 Lite is a few tenths of a cent more for a model with sequential sets and 3K output. Qwen Image 2.0 earns its place on two things the table does not show: Chinese text that reads correctly, and the negative prompt plus seed controls that make catalogue regeneration reproducible. If neither matters to the job, test Nano Banana 2.1 first.
How to call Qwen Image 2.0 at the price you planned
One API key, POST /v1/tasks, and the model id. This is the text-to-image request from the docs page, billed at $0.0245 when it completes.
curl -X POST https://api.unifically.com/v1/tasks \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
-d '{
"model": "alibaba/qwen-image-2.0",
"input": {
"prompt": "Watercolor painting of a cozy bookshop interior",
"aspect_ratio": "1:1"
}
}'
Add image_urls with up to 10 references and the same call switches to editing or fusion at the same rate; add negative_prompt (up to 500 characters) and an integer seed to make a catalogue regeneration reproducible, and set prompt_extend to false when the wording must stay verbatim. Swap the model id for alibaba/qwen-image-2.0-pro to promote a keeper. The response returns a task_id; poll GET /v1/tasks/<task_id> or set callback_url. Qwen Image 2.0 FAQ
How much does the Qwen Image 2.0 API cost?
Qwen Image 2.0 costs $0.0245 per completed image on UnificAlly, flat across text-to-image, editing and multi-image fusion with up to 10 references. Qwen Image 2.0 Pro costs $0.0525 per image for the same request shape. Failed tasks are not billed.
What do 1,000 Qwen Image 2.0 images cost?
$24.50 on Qwen Image 2.0, or $52.50 on 2.0 Pro. The rate is flat per image, so a mixed batch is each route's count times its rate.
Do reference images cost extra on Qwen Image 2.0?
No. Up to 10 references per call are included in the $0.0245 rate on 2.0 and 2.0 Pro. The original Qwen Image route is the exception: it bills a higher rate once image_urls is set.
Is Qwen Image 2.0 Pro worth the higher price?
For hero renders, text-heavy layouts and print, yes: Pro is the top-quality tier of the line and the one Arena ranks (#21 on text-to-image, 1192, as of October 7, 2026). For drafts, sweeps and catalogue passes, 2.0 gives the same request shape at under half the rate, so draft on 2.0 and re-send the keeper to Pro.
How much does the Qwen Image API cost across the family?
Per image on UnificAlly: Qwen Image 2.0 $0.0245, Qwen Image 2.0 Pro $0.0525, Qwen Image $0.0245 for text-only (more with references), Qwen Image Max $0.0525, Qwen Image Plus $0.021. All five share the same five aspect ratios and the same reference-editing path.
What is the cheapest way to try the Qwen Image 2.0 API?
New UnificAlly accounts get a $0.50 signup balance, enough for 20 Qwen Image 2.0 images, with no subscription. After that, billing is pay-per-use and the balance never expires.
What will change this post
We will update the rate tables when Alibaba changes the Qwen Image rates, when Qwen Image 2.1 or 3.0 gets its own page on the platform and takes the headline row, and when the non-Pro 2.0 route appears on Arena with a rank of its own. Prices on this page refresh from the live price list on every deploy, so the tokens stay current between those updates.
