A complete Suno API production path costs $0.11 on Unifically: $0.06 to generate a song, $0.05 to split it into vocal and instrumental stems, and $0 to export the original Suno track as WAV. Use the full $0.20 stem split only when you need separate drums, bass, guitar, keys, and other detected parts.

TL;DR: Start with suno-ai/music. Keep the returned clip ID. Send that ID to suno-ai/stems for vocals plus instrumental, suno-ai/stems-all for the wider multitrack split, or suno-ai/wav for a free WAV export. All four jobs use the shared POST /v1/tasks API.

Suno API workflow and total cost

These are Unifically's active customer prices on August 13, 2026.

Workflow stepModel IDPrice
Generate a songsuno-ai/music$0.06
Split vocals and instrumentalsuno-ai/stems$0.05
Split all detected stemssuno-ai/stems-all$0.20

The common song-to-two-stems workflow costs $0.11. Adding a WAV export does not change the total. A song plus all-stems extraction costs $0.26.

Open the Suno API playground and choose the first workflow step.

If you finish tracks by hand rather than through the API, Suno's browser DAW also got a major update in August 2026: MIDI on the timeline, a chat bar, and advanced stem separation. Our Suno Studio 2.0 breakdown covers the features and what it costs.

Step 1: Generate the Suno song

suno-ai/music supports simple and custom modes. Simple mode takes gpt_description_prompt. Custom mode takes a detailed prompt, style tags, and optional negative_tags.

The current mv values are:

Model versionAPI value
Suno 3.5chirp-v3-5
Suno 4.0chirp-v4
Suno 4.5chirp-auk
Suno 4.5+chirp-bluejay
Suno 5.0chirp-crow
Suno 5.5chirp-fenix
Inline custom modelchirp-custom

Versions 3.5 and 4 accept up to 3,000 prompt characters and 200 style characters. Versions 4.5 through 5.5 accept up to 5,000 prompt characters and 1,000 style characters. Simple mode accepts up to 500 characters.

This instrumental request costs $0.06:

curl -X POST https://api.unifically.com/v1/tasks \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $UNIFICALLY_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "model": "suno-ai/music",
    "input": {
      "mv": "chirp-bluejay",
      "custom": false,
      "gpt_description_prompt": "Warm analog synth instrumental, steady mid-tempo drums, simple bass motif, no vocals",
      "make_instrumental": true,
      "title": "Warm Circuit"
    }
  }'

The create response contains a task ID. Poll GET /v1/tasks/{task_id} until the job completes, then retain the Suno clip ID from the output. The stem and WAV jobs use that clip ID, not the generation task ID.

Generate the source track in the Suno playground.

Step 2: Extract Suno stems

Suno exposes two stem models with different output depth and prices.

Two-part Suno stems

suno-ai/stems separates the track into vocals and instrumental. It costs $0.05 and is the right default for karaoke versions, vocal cleanup, remix prep, or replacing the backing arrangement.

curl -X POST https://api.unifically.com/v1/tasks \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $UNIFICALLY_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "model": "suno-ai/stems",
    "input": {
      "clip_id": "YOUR_SUNO_CLIP_ID",
      "title": "Warm Circuit Stems"
    }
  }'

All Suno stems

suno-ai/stems-all costs $0.20. Depending on what the source mix contains and what the separator detects, the output can include vocals, backing vocals, drums, bass, guitar, keyboard, percussion, strings, synth, effects, brass, and woodwinds.

curl -X POST https://api.unifically.com/v1/tasks \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $UNIFICALLY_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "model": "suno-ai/stems-all",
    "input": {
      "clip_id": "YOUR_SUNO_CLIP_ID",
      "title": "Warm Circuit All Stems"
    }
  }'

Do not pay for all stems when vocals plus instrumental is enough. The wider split costs four times as much.

Open Suno Stems and choose the two-part or all-stems route.

Step 3: Export Suno to WAV

suno-ai/wav turns a Suno clip into a WAV file. The current Unifically price is $0. The request accepts one field: the Suno clip ID.

curl -X POST https://api.unifically.com/v1/tasks \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $UNIFICALLY_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "model": "suno-ai/wav",
    "input": {
      "clip_id": "YOUR_SUNO_CLIP_ID"
    }
  }'

WAV export is for a Suno clip. It is not a general MP3-to-WAV converter and does not accept an arbitrary audio URL. Use the clip ID returned by a completed Suno generation.

Export a completed Suno clip as WAV.

Suno stems vs WAV export

Stems and WAV solve different problems.

NeedUse
One high-quality file for a DAW or archiveWAV export
Separate singing from the backing trackTwo-part stems
Remix drums, bass, keys, and other parts independentlyAll stems
Preserve the original mixWAV export
Replace or mute one partStems

Running WAV export does not create isolated tracks. Running stem separation changes the material into separate files rather than giving you one lossless copy of the original mix.

Other Suno API prices

The broader Suno suite uses the same task API and account balance.

Suno operationCurrent price
Sound effect generation$0.01
Lyrics generation$0.012
Basic stems$0.05
Music, Extend, Cover, Add Vocals, Add Instrumental, or Voice$0.06
All stems$0.20
A chirp-custom request$0.64
WAV exportFree

chirp-custom is not a one-time reusable checkpoint. The request includes 6 to 24 reference audio URLs, trains an ephemeral custom model for that job, and discards it when the generation finishes. Send the custom_model object again for each custom generation.

Check the pricing page before a large batch because rates can change.

Common Suno workflow mistakes

  • Using the task ID where a clip ID is required. Stems and WAV take the Suno clip ID from the completed generation output.
  • Choosing all stems by default. The $0.05 two-part split is enough when you only need vocals and instrumental.
  • Expecting WAV export to separate a mix. It preserves the track as one WAV file.
  • Passing an arbitrary audio URL to WAV export. The route accepts a Suno clip_id.
  • Using old mv labels. Send values such as chirp-bluejay or chirp-fenix, not display labels such as “V5.5 Fenix.”
  • Treating chirp-custom as permanent training. It is rebuilt from the supplied references for each $0.64 request.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the Suno API cost?

A standard Suno music generation costs $0.06 on Unifically. Other current prices range from $0.01 for sound effects to $0.20 for all-stems extraction. An inline chirp-custom generation costs $0.64, and WAV export is free.

How much does it cost to generate a song and extract Suno stems?

One standard song costs $0.06 and the vocals-plus-instrumental split costs $0.05, for a total of $0.11. Using the all-stems route makes the total $0.26.

Can I download Suno as WAV?

Yes. Send the completed Suno clip ID to suno-ai/wav. The current Unifically price is $0.

What does Suno stems separation return?

The basic model returns vocals and instrumental. The all-stems model can return detected groups such as drums, bass, guitar, keyboard, strings, synth, effects, and additional vocal parts.

Can I extract stems from any uploaded song?

The current stem API takes a Suno clip_id. It does not expose an audio_url field for an arbitrary uploaded track.

Is the Suno API free?

Suno generation and processing jobs are pay-per-use on Unifically. WAV export is currently free, but the source Suno clip still comes from a paid generation or another completed Suno workflow.

What is the difference between Suno vocals and Suno stems?

Suno Add Vocals generates singing over an existing instrumental. Suno Stems does the reverse kind of production work: it separates an existing Suno song into vocals and backing audio.

For the shortest path from prompt to production files, generate the song in Suno, keep its clip ID, then choose Stems or WAV.

  • Suno API: generate the source music and select a model version.
  • Suno Stems: vocals/instrumental or wider multitrack separation.
  • Suno WAV Export: create a WAV file from a completed Suno clip.
  • Suno Add Vocals: add generated singing to an instrumental.
  • Suno Extend: continue a song from a chosen point.
